Etsy Niche Finder

Filter over a million Etsy search terms down to the ones with real demand and room left to compete in.

Narrow it down (optional) Opportunity 55 and over · competition 45 and under

Leave the box empty for the broadest sweep, or narrow it with a single word.

Run it with the box empty to see every niche that clears the bar, or type one word to narrow the sweep to a corner of the marketplace.

The hard part of print-on-demand is not making the design. It is picking something people are buying that the established shops have not already taken.

This scans the whole tracked keyword set — over a million Etsy search terms — and returns only those scoring above 55 on opportunity and below 45 on competition.

How to read this

Leave the box empty for the broadest sweep, or type a word to keep only terms containing it.

Results are sorted by opportunity, highest first. Terms marked declining are shrinking — high opportunity often just means the sellers have already left.

A winnable term is only half the job. Take the one you like into keyword research for its demand and lifecycle, then read how Etsy search actually ranks a listing before you write the listing that has to compete in it.

Questions

What makes an Etsy niche profitable?
Three things together: steady buyer demand, competition you can realistically beat, and a price point that leaves margin after Etsy fees and production costs. A niche with heavy demand and heavy competition is not profitable for a new shop, and a quiet niche with no competition usually has no buyers either.
How do I know if a niche is too saturated?
Look at who holds page one. If the top listings all come from shops with tens of thousands of sales and years of review history, a brand new listing will struggle to be seen. If page one is a mix of large and small shops, there is room.
Should I niche down or sell broadly?
Niche down at the start. A shop selling only dog-themed kitchen goods builds relevance signals faster than one selling everything, and it is far easier to write titles and tags that match real searches.
Which niches work best for print-on-demand?
Niches where the design carries the value rather than the material: hobbies, professions, pets, sports, personal milestones, and humour. These convert well because buyers pick the product for the phrase or artwork, not the fabric.
