<h2>Running a tool</h2> <p>The free tools work without an account, so there is nothing to sign in to and nothing tied to your name.</p> <p>To keep the daily allowance fair we record three things when you run a live lookup: your network address, the date, and which tool you used. Nothing else — not the term you searched, not your browser, not a fingerprint.</p> <p>Those rows are deleted automatically after a few days. They exist only to count three lookups a day.</p> <p>We count on the network address rather than a cookie because a cookie-based limit is not a limit at all — anyone can clear one. It is the least identifying signal that actually works.</p> <h2>The weekly brief</h2> <p>If you subscribe, we store the email address you gave us and which page you subscribed from. We use it to send the brief and nothing else.</p> <p>Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe. Unsubscribing removes the address.</p> <p>We do not sell, rent or share the list.</p> <h2>Contacting us</h2> <p>A message sent through the contact form is stored so we can reply to it. It is not added to any mailing list.</p> <h2>Analytics and third parties</h2> <p>Links to paid software carry campaign parameters so we can see which page sent a visitor. That tells us the page, not the person.</p> <p>We do not run display advertising and we do not use cross-site tracking pixels.</p> <h2>Removing your data</h2> <p>Ask, and we will delete anything we hold that relates to you. Use the <a href="/pages/contact">contact page</a>. Lookup counters expire on their own within days.</p>
